Too bad he died so fast.

Yes he was found guilty of ordering? or overseeing? or "His Men"
killing 132 or thereabouts people in 1982 in an area that has been a
constant source of death for the last 2000 years.
Do you really think that anything has changed since the US invaded
except for far more deaths than can be attributed to Sadam.

Yes, Rod, there have been several changes in addition to the deaths.
None of the changes being very good news for anyone.

Yesterday's newspaper struck me with a sledgehammer. On one page there
was coverage of the execution of Saddam Hussein. On the facing page
there was coverage of the death of President Gerald Ford.

The difference of the two men were absolutely striking. I need not list
Saddam's "qualities".

Pres. Ford was our only unelected president, and, during his 2.5 years
in office proved that the system we have for presidential succession
works very well. During his short tenure in office, he stopped the
intense focus on disgraced Nixon and got on with healing the wounds and
the business of the country.

The dichotomy is astounding.

And Ford didn't do, didn't expect, but is TOTALLY responsible for the
deaths of MILLIONS in the Viet era..

interesting statement

since when is ONE person totally responsbile for anything?? in the US gov
I mean

Executive order to withdraw and let the people be murdered / slaughtered.
(In this case)
He was told of the consequences ahead of time, several times, but the
loonies won out.

Nixon had some garbage papers stolen from a hotel room.

Saddam ordered and was pleased with the deaths of millions. He
PERSONALLY killed somewhere in the order of 200 people (it was
witnessed). The Iraq government is deciding whether further trials would
accomplish anything.
