Some people like melatonin, but it isn't regulated, so take it at your
own risk. Just make sure to tell your doctor. You could also try a new
drug that works like melatonin, but stronger-- it's called Rozerem and
it's not addicting. Good luck!

ABSOLUTELY stay away from ANY controlled drug. It is CONTROLLED BECAUSE
it
is dangerous.

Vernon is fond of making this claim. He has been unable to back it
up. Just like the rest of his claims.

Rozerem is a possibility, but it doesn't work very well. The most
recent issue of Consumer Reports had a 2-page article on prescription
sleep aids. They were not real enthusiastic about any of the ones on
the market. A close friend of mine who has suffered from insomnia for
years concurs.

As do most of us in healthcare. Most of the stuff that can effectively put
you to sleep will leave you with a nasty hangover in the morning. Some sleep
med interact in bad ways with other medications. Recomendations:

Get plenty of physical exercise, including some aerobic activity every day.
Eat a balanced diet.
Avoid heavy meals just before bedtime.
Budget plenty of sleep time.
Make your sleep room as quiet and dark as possible.
If you are taking an aspirin a day as part of your medications, take your
aspirin at bedtime.
Some people find a small glass of wine at bedtime helps them get to sleep
