I am reposting an exchange between cathyb and myself from the thread

I'll summon it up for those people who have a life and don't have the
time to read all of your ramblings:
"I, PeterB, claimed that vitamin C somehow turns hydrogen into oxygen.
CathyB pointed out to me that that is not coorect and that this simply
can not happen. Instead of admitting that I made a mistake...
You presumably read my admission that hydrogen does not convert to
oxygen, but chose to ignore it. I posted the source material from
Gyorgyi's public speech to clarify these various points (including my
chemically inaccurate comment) to show that it changes nothing about
the value of vitamin C in preventing and treating human disease. But
this means nothing to you because you aren't interested in
clarification. Nor is cathyb.
note to readers: Pharma bloggers on Usenet are not here to discuss
natural medicine, they are here to play "gotcha," tell us what to
think, tell us that our experience with natural medicine is false,
assasinate the character of those who advocate natural alternatives,
promote vaccine, chemo, and other dangerous drugs, and try to persuade
you that supplements are "snake oil." They do all this for money in
support of their sponsors.
and that I
actually should have said [this or that], I started to behave like a
little kid, insisting that I was right anyway, and that Linus Pauling
and some person called Szent-Gregory supported my claim...
"Some person called Szent-Gregory" [sic] is the nobel prize winner in
physiology who isolated the chemical structure of vitamin C 75 years
ago. I chose to post Gyorgi's own words about vitamin C in order to
clarify any confusion I might have caused. It's clear that your
purpose is to detract from the value of vitamin C as a crucial nutrient
in human health, by attacking me.
That didn't
work, so now I'm wiggling and squirming and trying to bury my words in a
lot of stuff which is totally unrelated to my hydrogen to oxygen claim,
hoping people will forget all about it."
Unlike you, I'm here to discuss the benefits of natural medicine. Did
you even read the quotes from Gyorgyi? They highlight the role of
ascorbic acid, hydrogen, and activated oxygen in cellular respiration.
My comments, though not chemically accurate, don't diminish the
importance of supplementing vitamin C for good cardiovascular health.
It still doesn't fly.
You're still promoting death and disease on behalf of your sponsors,
whether you like it or not.
