patellar hypermobility is what my doctor called it.
I wrap (with elasticized bandage) whichever flares at night and have to
avoid walking downward or down stairs (or hold the kneecap) while going
down stairs. (my kneecaps shift from left to right) Takes about a week to
clear up. doctor gave me some strengthening exercises to do. The exercises
depend on which way the kneecaps shift. Works for me, flares about twice a
year.

Execises and instructions depend on which way they're shifting.
