Re: Is there a natural Candida cure?

If you have a vaginal infection, the simplest, fastest and easiest
remedy I've found is a simple douche with 2 TB of hydrogen peroxide in
a quart of water.

This is how yogurt works, because the bacteria make peroxide which
kills the yeast. The peroxide douche is more direct, cheaper, faster
and a heck of a lot less messy than inserting yogurt.

I have found it is more effective than the Monistat-type products as
well. It is literally an *instant* cure.

Moving along to systemic yeast... unfortunately, systemic yeast does
not have an instant cure. It takes several months to deal with
systemic yeast.

I am using a product from Thorne Research called Formula SF722. These
pills contain 50 mg 10-unodecenoic acid. I take two pills three times
a day, usually with meals.

They work by interfering with the "rooting" form of yeast where the
organism is growing into a multicellular organism.

This product is known for both being very effective and minimizing the
"die off" symptoms many suffer with other yeast cures. This is largely
why I chose it over other yeast-killing products.

You will see specific evidence of yeast leaving your body while using
these pills. There is no doubt they are working.

I do not think you can cure a systemic yeast infection using *any*
drugs or natural product unless you limit carbohydrate in your diet
drastically during the course of treatment. I have to do a low-carb
diet anyway as I'm diabetic. Basically, this means meat, poultry,
fish, eggs, some dairy products, piles and piles of vegetables, a few
lower-carb fruits (berries and melon) and NO grains, breads, pastas,
sugars, potatoes, etc.

For a sensible introduction to a low-carbohydrate diet I recommend the
book "Protein Power" by the Eades for non-diabetics or "Dr. Bernstein's
Diabetes Solution" for diabetics.

In addition to the supplement and the diet, I expect if you are not
eating yogurt with live cultures daily, you should probably take
probiotics during the course of treatment. Yeast overgrowth is often
due to a lack of "good" bacteria so you need to repopulate the good
guys. Personally, I find yogurt cheaper and yummier than pills and
find it no hardship to eat some daily. If you don't like it, get some
good probiotics.

Finally, if you are diabetic, you may have unusually high bg readings
until the yeast is under control because infection raises blood glucose
levels. If this is the case, you should discuss this with a doctor as
having high bg for months during a systemic yeast infection will
increase the chances of suffering diabetic complications and will cause
a progression of type 2 diabetes. BG control is paramount for
diabetics.

Good luck.
