I have had horrible dr's since I first got sick, two of them to be exact. Neither could diagnose and almost killed me by the time I ended up at the surgeon. But I still don't blame all dr's which is the problem I find here and it's ashamed. I am proactive in my medical care now which I didn't do with the others until I knew I would die unless someone took care of me. It's ashamed that all dr's and dentists are lumped into one. I don't like insurance companies, get sick and tired of the politics of the FDA but I do my best to work things out the best I can. That's all anyone can do. UM

Agreed. Every profession, even day care center operators, have their bad apples. However, that does not mean that evey day care center operator abuses children. Just some.

According to the doctor-haters, that must be a lie.

Yes, I agree. No-one likes insurance companies, and there's little they
won't contemplate to avoid paying for a class of claim.

Legally, though, this is just a case of outright fraud, since the
Cavitat people knew that the FDA had said their machine was useless for
the purpose to which it was being put, and that Aetna did not pay out
for it's use.

Cheers,

Cathy

Do you want to have the cost of your cover to increase to include,

Just pay the practitioner.

Serious jaw infection is not in the same categoery as the zapper. Assuming NICO exists (which in itself is not a meaningful term because it doesn't refere to the type of jaw legion but the apparent effects of the legion) do you know how much that surgery costs? Do you know who much jaw surgery of any type costs? That would be like telling a patient to pay for cancer operation themselves because they can "just pay the surgeon." without inconvienceing the insurance company. yeah if you have a million dam dollars!

That's what you get with a user-pays medical system. Plenty of folks out there can't afford insurance; do you think they're getting Cavitat diagnosis?

Insurance is expensive enough without it covering stuff that's not of
proven benefit. Which is why I object, as I said, to having cover for
homeopathy.

At the end of the day, Aetna clearly stated that:
"Aetna considers treatment by the Cavitat device to detect NICO in
jawbones to be experimental and investigational because there is no
adequate scientific evidence to support its clinical value.
Additionally, CPB 642 advises members and their health care providers
that surgery for NICO, including the scraping of "infected cavities"
and removal of vital or root-canal treated teeth, is considered
experimental and investigational because the clinical significance of
NICO is in question." They have an "experimental and investigational"
exclusion.

Lying about diagnosis and treatment to get them to pay for it was
illegal and immoral.
