Wise words.
Actually, this whole "training for functionallity" is a bunch of crap.
Strength, that is, not mobility.
Since when, in *REAL* life, do we lift 200 kilos OVERHEAD !?!?!?
Never.
Heaviest thing i do, in REAL life, is walking back home with a bag of
groceries that weighs 15 kilos, at the MOST.
And thats only because it contains 6 liters of milk, 6 liters of fruit
juice and some solids. Its usually around 5-10 kilos, for a 2 minute
walk. Big deal.
Having strength and bigger than avarage muscles is fun, and it makes
you feel good, for sure, but functional !?!?!?
No.
But then again, this goes for all sports. As if throwing a disc 100
meters away is functional. Yeah, right...

Life has to be fun for sure. :-)
I cannot argue with that. That's the whole point of "sports".
At the moment tho', I'm not capable of handling a high powered rifle
against my right shoulder and shooting is one sport I enjoy...
and I've been invited to go feral hog hunting this fall to put meat in
my freezer.
Both a fun and practical application.
I need to fix this sprained right rotator cuff first.
Practicality is currently taking the place of sheer strength.
I guess for me it's more a matter of age. I'm 47. Functionality now
takes the place of pure sports application.
And what's up with strutting around a stage for a plastic trophy and
screams from the audience?
Maybe if I was in my early 20's...

Peace! Om
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
