That was good, and very accurate. ;-)

By coincidence I wrote this only recently in response to an invitation
from a professional organisation to participate in Earth Hour:

"No offence intended but I for one, among countless others, will not
be participating in this mindless gimmick, as it will have no impact
on 'climate change' whatsoever.

Denial of 'global warming', as the tree-hugging liberal left-wing PC
Brigade prefer to call the inevitable and cyclic changes in our
environment, is being likened to holocaust denial in the burgeoning
list of personal opinions we are deemed not allowed to hold.

Given that we human beings are clinging precariously to a lump of
shrapnel, produced billions of years ago as the result of a mighty
explosion; that we are hurtling outwards into infinite space at
enormous velocity; that we are spinning rapidly on our own axis and
circling a huge mass of molten matter from the same explosion, upon
which we rely entirely for our survival as a species, the very notion
that our ant-like existence and miniscule activities can influence the
mighty scheme of things is quite ridiculous.

It is all way beyond our comprehension and we must just accept things
for what they are, and enjoy life as best we can before the stark
tragedy of inevitable mortality for eternity overtakes us all.

I'm sure your plea is well intentioned but it is the product of an
alarmist conspiracy to undermine our hopes and dreams, and a clumsy
vehicle with which to extract more revenue by way of taxation."

George Carlin is a man after my own heart! ;o)

I had a Zoology professor in college that stated to our class that
humans were very arrogant in presuming that we could "save the planet"
so I know what you mean...

The planet will take care of itself. Humans might not survive the grand
scheme, but such is life. ;-)

Peace! Om

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
