It depends what you want. They work as a workaround for an existing
injury, and that is why I started using them. But I use them sparingly
and on one hand only. I don't care for big back, which I can't use due
to weak grip, so I see no reason in using straps on a regular basis.

I have always used straps on a regular basis for all of my back training
except my deadlifts. I have never had grip issues. Possibly this was
because
of my deadlift training as I regularly repped with 360 to 400 pounds. But
if
it becomes a problem now I will simply take up grip exercises. I like how
strong using the straps keeps my back.
Like without straps your back wouldn't develop.

The developement of the back without straps is limited by the muscles ahead
of it. Forearms and biceps. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.
