I can't believe that you need all that. Crutches are just that,
crutches. If you start relying on them, you will not recover. I know,
old age and all, but it looks like a bit of an excess to me. I admit
that I started using straps recently, but I plan on stopping as soon as
I can. I'm only 37, though.

I think straps are a good idea. They take a lot of the forearm
involvement
out so you can focus all your energy on the back muscles you are trying
to
target.
It depends what you want. They work as a workaround for an existing
injury, and that is why I started using them. But I use them sparingly
and on one hand only. I don't care for big back, which I can't use due
to weak grip, so I see no reason in using straps on a regular basis.

I have always used straps on a regular basis for all of my back training
except my deadlifts. I have never had grip issues. Possibly this was because
of my deadlift training as I regularly repped with 360 to 400 pounds. But if
it becomes a problem now I will simply take up grip exercises. I like how
strong using the straps keeps my back.
