What big controversy?

There isn't much difference between whey and soy. Whey has a slightly
higher biological utilization value and some people think soy tends to
induce estrogen or something, but that's not been proven -- so I'm not
aware of any controversy between the two....

Well, the controversy I'm referring to is that some people say whey
helps you build muscle better and has no side effects (unless you're
lactose intollerant) and that soy doesn't build muscle as well and can
give you "female features" as a side effect. Then some people say
whey is just overpriced because it's more popular and that soy does
the same thing only it's cheaper and it also has added benefits (and I
don't really understand this part or what it's all about) when it
comes to antioxidants or something like that.

Anyway, I'm just confused. I'm a noob at this whole weight lifting
thing and would just like someone to help me understand the difference
and point me in the right direction. I just don't know what to think
at this point. I'm leaning towards soy at this point, but mostly just
because it's half the price.
