Well, I was concerned of "overtraining" if doing too many exercises
for a particular muscle group.

I think that over-training concerns not enough recovery, relative to
the workload, and not the workload itself.

I was working out up to four times a week with three hour sessions
earlier this year and I enjoyed them. However, I was resting enough
and so now that I've taken that into consideration, I am making
progress again, as measured by the weight I can put up and the number
of reps and sets involved. So over-training seems to be about more
recovery and not so much the exercises themselves per se.

I am looking to increase in both strength and mass--just looking for
some additional advice.
I want my workouts to be as "efficient" as possible without doing
unnecessary exercises that
May result in injury or just overstress the muscle(s) I'm working on.

How old are you?

About as critical as bad form and technique, I think age is the number
one factor. Because I've basically worked out the same as I ever
have, but it's only now that I'm 35 that issues are catching up with
me -- when younger, nothing seemed to injure me long.

But you're doing fine there. Your routine, as generally described, is
typical for people who want to increase mass and strength. Whether
your genetics respond, and how intensely, is not really dependent on
the routine. The exercises are just the catalysts, that's all --
important, but not "it." The "it" is the sum of your genetics.

I am 37 yrs old. 6'0 210lbs---dropped 16lbs in the past 4mo.(mostly
belly fat).
