Pepsi's Aquafina and Coca-Cola Co's Dasani are both made from purified
water sourced from public resevoirs, as opposed to Danone's Evian or
Nestle's Poland Spring, so-called "spring waters," shipped from specific
locations the companies say have notably clean water.

Aquafina maker Pepsi says that the leading bottled water brand comes
from the same source as tap water. Soon labels will include the words
"Public Water Source" instead of "P.W.S."

Coca Cola's says that its Dasani water comes from local water supplies,
is filtered using a process called reverse osmosis and enhanced with
minerals.

RO isn't readily available to everyone and DOES raise the value of
straight tap water.

Indeed. For some of us, our tap water tastes like ***. I buy bottled for
the taste, or lack thereof.

No vending machines for it in any of the grocery stores?
Hopefully you can at least get the grocery store pre-bottle gallons for
under $1.00 per gallon?

Dad sometimes gets Oasis brand spring water for around $.89 per gallon.
