Have any suggestions for starting weighted work on these?

Adding weight in a vest or backpack is harder so I'd stay away from
that unless you're particularly masochistic. A dipping belt with
weight on it is the norm.

I would suggest getting one of these -

that will allow for small weight increments.

I just put loose plates on the chain of my dipping belt. I have one
of
those spindles but I don't use it for this. I sometimes pick a few
kettlebells and use those - it's already got a handle, you know. :)

With a spindle like that you (Zen Cohen) could try something like a
modification of Sheiko approach to bench press, e.g.

Yes, agreed. It would be nice if someone would post a link to these
routines in their original form - the link I had in my Favorites no
longer works.

Do you mean this one? -

I happened to had saved the Google cache for this link shortly after
the page went off the net. I could email it to you, unless it's a
criminal offense of course, or if the Party is behind all that in some
way, in which case I won't (Ok, MAYBE I will, but I won't admit it on
newsgroups).

That would be great.

There is also that horror-movie inspiring internet web archive that
supposedly "takes you back", but they are "experiencing technical
difficulties" at the moment.

That worked very well for me.
Here is my 170 lb chinup:

You stud, you! :)

We'll have to wait and see what I'd be able to do at 53 years of age.

I'm only 52 - don't rush me. :)

Many thanks!
