I think most Americans regret Dubya's disastrous neocon campaign. Saddam
was
still an *** and deserved to die, although the event is kind of
anti-climactic at this point. I don't think the analogy to Putin is
particularly relevant.

I agree. He could fight back.

Exactly. Also, we didn't go to war because Saddam was a bad man. We went to
war due to a hidden agenda, combined with hubris and incompetence, aided and
abetted by a spineless Congress.

Thanks. You revive my faith in an American nation. I happen to
believe that we, as your allies, do have a duty in helping you in your
stupid wars if we can, but it feels reasonably bitter at times, so you
should understand me, I think.
