Just curious to know if anyone's done this and what the underlying
principles are. The web site is scarce on details. As is probably
obvious to most who know me, this isn't for me, it's just a "last
week of August, work is slow, the kids are home" sort of thing.

TIA.

John has quite a few articles on t-nation.com if you want to check it
out.

The folks on t-nation seem to like it...

OK, I read one of his articles, about his "Get Shredded" diet,
and will read a few more.

Thanks.

Seems like an awful lot of Biotest products are featured on that
diet.

Berardi apparently helps Biotest formulate quite a few of their
supplements. It makes sense that he would want to use the
supplements that he helped design. There's probably a financial
incentive as well, of course, but that's to be expected.

You could do worse than Biotest.

You could do as well more cheaply.

That brings up a question that I have sort of been meaning to ask you.
What supplements do you currently take? I use Whey protein, creatine,
fish oil capsules, and multivitamins. Is there something else that
you would consider essential?

Bruce "Brock Strosser" Kneller helped Biotest formulate some of their
supplements, too. And where is he now?

I don't buy any Biotest products myself. Of course, I don't hardly
buy any supplements at all. I just started using creatine, for crying
out loud. The only supplement that I don't buy at Costco is creatine,
and I got that at WalMart (I probably won't do that again, though).

I probably will buy their creatine when I run out of what I have, as
it appears to be fairly well priced, and I would like to do
"something" to support t-nation.com, as I do enjoy their articles.
You really can do a lot worse than Biotest, and I don't mind
supporting them even if it does cost a bit more.

The fact of the matter is that I have a hard time getting excited
about the finer points of nutrition. I know nutrition is important,
but it isn't fun like strength training. My experiment with ONE MEAL
A DAY style eating has made me even more lazy when it comes to
nutrition. Now that I don't spend a good portion of my day thinking
about food I am even less excited about nutrition minutiae.

To get back on track a bit, I've read quite a few of Berardi's
articles on t-nation.com, and they seem very sensible to me. Other
than the pre-workout nutrition (that all of us already know about) the
rest of his nutrition stuff seems decidedly mainstream. Several meals
a day, carbs from fruits and vegetables, plenty of protein, low
processed foods, etc.
