And people, being at the top of the food chain, don't have a right to
kill animals? Do you not eat meat? Do you not wear leather, fur or
down?
You're obviously unable to read. Robert sayd he has "no problem with
people
who hunt dear etc. to eat". Killing animals for the sport (or luxury)
is
something completely different, and those that do should IMO be forced
to
eat their prey.
I do eat my kill, but that's not why I hunt. I hunt because I enjoy
shooting that bull elk or nice buck. There's nothing quite like it.
The
report of the rifle, watch the animal lurch in the air, then drop dead.
Sometimes they'll run a bit before dying. But there's nothing quite
like
it.
Hey Larry, how you been?
Excellent thanks.
I just got back late Sunday from being in the bush fishing with the
wife and my two Labs. We must of caught at least 100 fish. Four
times we had doubles while trolling. Unfortunately, most of the fish
were rock bass and we threw them all back. It was great fun though.
Bass are great eating. I'll take them over salmon / trout anyday.
We broke camp at 5:30 AM Sunday and made the two trips to haul our
stuff off the peninsula by 7:15 AM (boat in campsite). We made it to
Split Rock Lighthouse at 10:00 AM and I dove the Madeira again for my
20th and 21st dives.
Sounds fun. I went backpacking with one of my son's last weekend. A
buddy
of mine from Oakland flew up to go with us also. And another local poker
buddy and his son went as well. Had a great time, and a great workout.
Here are some pics...
This was on a day hike on Sat. Our camp is in the valley below:

This was also taken on the day hike. You can see our blue tent in the
trees
on the far left of the picture (about 300 yards from the lake). Nobody
else
here but us. Didn't try fishing the little lake, and I doubt there is
fish
in it.

This is a picture from below our camp on the lake's outlet stream looking
up
to Broken Top Mountain, which is where we went day hiking.

I'm leaving again in less than two weeks for Florida. My buddy Mike
and I will be diving for Lobster for a week down there. Wish you
could make it.
Me too. I would be a diver if I lived in a more tropical climate.
Anyway,
good to hear from you.
isn't exactly a tropical climate. You know, once you're a certified
diver, you're a certified diver. Of course, most dive charters won't
let you dive if your logbook hasn't had an entry for a year but so
what. You can just dive with your buddy John, before we venture out
on a charter.
You do know that you can take your classroom and pool dives in Oregon
and your certification dives somewhere else, right? My buddy in
Florida did everything for $275. We could try that angle next summer
if you want. Florida is cheaper, I'm sure, than Oregon.
I would consider that actually. Cost is the main issue for me...I have four
kids. Three in braces, two in college. You get the idea. And I try to
date on a semi-regular basis, which requires a bit more than Burger King and
a big gulp at 7-Eleven..
Anywho, I'm glad we are both living the good life!
Me too bud. It really is good isn't it? These dumb*** candy ass Libs have
no idea what they're missing. It's not that we're abusing Creation, but
rather that we are able to enjoy it without feeling like we're intruding. I
pick up my trash, and leave no trace. But, the woods belong to me, not to
the animals. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Use it, but don't
abuse it. Translation: shoot deer and elk when you draw tags, fish, and
kill cougar whenever you can to help control their population. Speaking of
cougar, the "unofficial" word in the OR Dep of Fish and Wildlife is "SSS",
which is shoot, shovel and shuddap. Basically, kill every cat you see.
There are so many cats here that they are decimating the deer populations.
Cumdumsters like Rob have no clue. Don't waste your time reasoning with
him. Let it go...he'll never get it.
Have a great week John. Enjoy your summer while you have it. Hunting next
month for me and my boys.
