I'm serious. Since I've started eating whey protein, I've
been...erm...plugged up. I eat around 100g per day, but maybe that's too
much. I do all the right things - 25g of fiber per day, tons of water,
exercise, blah blah blah. Still, I'm only "going" like 2-3 times per
week. I'm having to resort to very uncomfortable measures. And when you
take those little pills, you have very little control over when the urge
finally hits...and hopefully it's not halfway between las vegas and the
grand canyon.
I don't even know if it's the protein. But that's the biggest dietary
change recently.
Just increasing protein shouldn't constipate you. I would suspect the
increase in protein was accompanied by a decrease in fibrous veges and
fruits.
When I do my periodic PSMF diet (currently on it), which is almost all
protein, with a little fibrous veges, I poop once a week. And only with a
Milk of Magnesia/Dulcolax cocktail. And that is despite 5 different fiber
supplements per day.
So, I empathize. I'm full of ***. And so are you.

Is milk of magnesia as gentle as they say, or does it cause emergency
situations as well?
