pectoral tendonitis

Hi,
I went heavy one day on the bench press and I my right shoulder started
to hurt. Like most people, I ignored this minor pain for a while. Then
I went to the DR and he said I have pectoral tendonitis, take
antinflamatory drugs for a few weeks and go back slowly. Now my
question is, can this really, really heal? At first, I didn't take the
drugs, the pain would go away after about 2 days, and then I would
start working out which would aggravate it. The only *really time* that
it doesn't hurts is when I do the dumb bell bench presses. I'm getting
great results, I haven't looked this cut ever so I'm praying my wieght
lifting career isn't over.
