Not necessarily. I have been using my real address (whatever it
happened to be at the time) in Usenet for years. The easiest way to
cut down on spam is to do what my ISP does. They simply refuse
connections from SMTP servers that are on the spamhaus.org lists. Not
only does this lower spam received dramatically, but it also provides
legitimate senders with a notice that A) their email did not get
through, and B) why their email did not get through.

I get the occasional email from someone who read one of my posts, and
I like that.

That's not what he meant. He was implying that only a novice troll
would forge someone else's email address. Yet he has done exactly
that because he thinks he's untouchable. He may soon learn he was
wrong.
