Re: OT: Coffee - took first step, got something that grinds

When I was in the coffee biz, we always referred to coffee as the affordable luxury. It doesn't cost that much to have the best. It may be an extra ten minutes a day or an extra trip to the roaster/store per week. But just like trainin', there are all kinds of approaches out there. And only a small percentage of people really experience the nectar of the gods.

My problem is one of managing happiness. I've got enough to bother me without allowing crappy coffee to be a problem. In other words, I choose to be happy with what is easily/cheaply available. I won't turn down a fantastic coffee experience, but I won't be crabby if I don't get it.

Come to think of it, I've taken on a new habit that is a bit scary. I love/need/yearn for my first cup of coffee of the day, but I usually don't have time to brew a pot for my 3 pm cup and/or forget to drink it, so lately I've taken to downing half a caffeine tablet at that hour.

This is not the confession of a coffee snob. This is the confession of a serious caffeine addict.
