If that which David wrote is untrue then it could be potentially
libellous.

Slander is uttering untruths via the spoken word.

Whatever has been said about John Williams, would have to be weighed
against that which he has committed to the written word about scores
of other people using this and other newsgroups. As he sows so must he
reap!
