That is the mechanics of it, I mean the concept of the universe expanding is
easy to understand (not the particulars)

Well, it is subtly stated in the big bang theory. What was there before the
big bang?
Matter did not exist. Did time? Did reality?

What is reality, but that which still exists without your need to believe in
it. But before the big bang, nothing existed.

The universe (that which exists, or is) expands into what? Remember, it was
space, matter, and energy which exploded out of the the big bang. Again,
what was there before the big bang? The vastness of the universe (space) did
not exist. The universe is finite, but expanding. Beyond the expansion there
isn't.
I came apon this when teaching a class on Environmental Chemisty (I like to
start at the begining--the real begining, when chemicals greater than
duterium were formed). We are stardust...
I do not have my books here; however, this is along the lines of what I came
upon:

Of course, and most other times as well. Safety first!
