I got the Omron R5 and it's worked out quite well. It allowed me to track my blood pressure for a week, and now I'm on blood pressure medication. I was feeling not so well at 170/120, and given other medical factors this was a dangerous place for me to be. Thanks for the advice. We're not sure exactly what of the many things that could each have contributed to pushing my blood pressure up so far was responsible (it was probably a combination of factors). My guess is the chronic kidney stress from the variety of nephrotoxic drugs coupled with the high doses of anabolic steroids to keep my marrow working. So, for those of you using for purposes other than remaining alive, make sure to keep track of your blood pressure. Brain stem CVEs are not fun.

So, are you feeling better with your blood pressure in check? It's sort of interesting that you felt it; I sort of thought high blood pressure was silent, i.e., you didn't notice it.

I sort of felt like I was straining all the time, even when I wasn't. Far fewer headaches now, too. My blood pressure used to be 100/60. When I started feeling the straining feeling I began asking for my blood pressure to be taken when I went in for the twice weekly blood work, and it had only just started to climb by then to about 140/90.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:
