Re: Pictures
I put some race pictures up. The ones in pink are two months after
the
ones in blue - I've lost a bit of lard in the meantime... but not
much.

Dolly the Hippo
I'm curious, why post these pics at all?
I think I have her figured now Mike. Dolly is a pathological
extravert. She is an attention hound. When she was little someone
told her she was a hot shot and now she can't keep off the stage
David's right for once: I am very extraverted. Pathological is up for
debate.
Not really, no. ;-) But in a good way, dear.
I don't see this as a 'stage' I'm on, but rather a community I'm in. I
enjoy seeing other people's pictures too, not because I'm going to pick
them apart but because I like seeing what they look like.
I guess but for that purpose a pic in a tight shirt (no bra) would get
a lot more positive attention without the scrutiny of how much she
looks like an athlete.
The attention I'd get from a "tit" shot is not the sort of attention I
seek... even presuming I didn't have forty+ year old tits that have
nursed babies for four years and lost significant amounts of fat.
In any case, these pics are a vindication of sorts that this is not an
athlete. Even Donovan is probably shaking his head.
I am what I am. Some people find the pictures interesting, some people
find them inspiring, some find them laughable. The interpration is up
to you. This is where I'm at. I'm not lying, exagerating, building
myself a sock puppet: this is what I did this summer.
I've scaled back cycling and swimming and am concentrating more on
powerlifts and running right now, trying to cut in the off season. I
had a lot of trouble keeping on a catabolic diet when I needed energy
for long swims and long bike rides. The cycling community has a thing
about recreational carbs, too, that I just couldn't handle. (I.e., we'd
cycle out for ice cream, or cycle out for beer and pizza... many of my
rides were net calorie positive.)
My guess is that this transformation saga is useful to some people. I'd
be glad if that were true. Part of what I needed when I was on the
slippery slope into morbid obesity was a path out. A vision of what it
would take.
For me it takes changing focus from time to time. I can't always do the
same thing day after day. I'd be back on the couch if my only workout
were 45 minutes on a stationary bike 3 times a week.
I love running. Did you see how much I'm smiling? This is fun.
Hopefully it'll inspire someone else to try it. And seeing me sausaged
into my tri suit on the bike made me inspired to do more cutting. So
where's the harm?
Dally
Hell, I think you're wonderful; keep up the good work.
