I've got an Omron, too and like it. Wrist model don't work well for me
but this one has a cuff that goes in the same place the doctor uses, the
upper arm.
For anyone who's concerned with their blood pressure in the doctor's
office, get the Omron or similar and take your BP twice a day for two
weeks and average out all the numbers. Many people get "white coat
syndrome" - higher BP reading in the doctor's office. My wife has this
and every time she sees a new doctor, she gets asked to do this and
bring in the results, which are always perfectly normal, so she's never
been put on medication.
In some cases, they'll fit you with a harness that takes readings every
half hour or so all day and night. My Dad recently had this done. You
wear the thing for 24 hours, take it back to the doc, and they download
the readings.
