Silly debate: where are online purchases purchased?


The following question arose, and led to rather heated debate, while a
rebate form was being filled out. What should the answer be to the
question "City Where Purchased?" when the purchase was online (from
Amazon.com in this case)?

One faction argues that the correct answer is the city in which
Amazon.com is located. (Headquarters? Or where the servers are
located?).

Another faction argues that the correct answer is the city in which the
purchaser is at the time of the purchase.
