Has anyone else had a truly good experience with offshore support?

Yep.

Attempting to return a quite old dinosaur Compaq from the dead, for someone else.

Couldnt get the system restore to work, turned out that it had never been
supplied with an SE restore, only a 2K, and that the supplier had installed
SE on it themselves. The support was obviously in India, but he went out
of his way to check the details on what was a machine well past its support
useby date, and didnt require any prompting on what the problem might be.

His english was a bit accented but no problem understanding him, or him understanding mine.
