Sure enough, when I came to pick up my prescription, it was the exact
same box he'd had in his had, only now it had a sticker on it with my
name, some directions, and a barcode, and the box had been placed
inside a paper bag.

WTF does it take half an hour to put a sticker on a box of medicine
and drop it into a paper bag? I mean, he had the damn thing right
there IN HIS HAND - why not just print the sticker, slap it on, drop
it into the bag, and hand it to me right then? Why the long wait?

Someone please tell me that there was a valid reason for this delay,
and this guy wasn't just being a prick...

Or CYA by calling the doctor to verify the script. I had a
druggist call to verify a script for an antibacterial mouth
wash. I guess people are concentrating it for their WMD labs.

Nope. I am on one prescription that is available to anyone without a
prescription, yet if I just walk up and ask to buy this item (blood
glucose test strips), its always a wait at Walgreen's. The only reason I
need a prescription is for insurance reimbursement. This problem;
however, is easily solved. I just phone in the order and tell the
Walgreen's druggist when I will be by to pick it up. When I do that,
there's rarely any waiting involved.
