Yes!
Well insulated attic, and quality tightly closed windows and storms, and
thick drapes, is about as good as you can do relatively cheaply. If you are
next to the airport, a tall hedge of very dense bushes may help a little.
There are electronic solutions, from white noise generators to mask it, to
noise-cancelling earphones. I suppose you could have a home-theater company
build you an insulated room, and maybe rig it with active sound
cancellation, but that would be absurdly expensive. Most people learn to
live with it, wear earplugs, or move. Was the airplane traffic around when
you bought the place?
There are 1000 times more planes flying around now.
