No Graham, they are not an answer to "Crime". If we lived in an ideal
world (Disneyland) where everyone followed COMMON sense and the rules it
would be fine to drive a golf cart or motorcycle.
Fact is..WE DON'T!!
If you ride a motorcycle, you wear a helmet.If your going walking in the
desert you wear boots (for snakes).I drive a heavy SUV for the same reason
YOU have airbags in your vehicle,for the same reason you have insurance on
your car.I actually LIKE having some real metal around me, call it a
safety cage.
That attitude promotes an "arms race" of sorts. When everybody switches to
large SUVs thinking (mistakenly) that they are safer, suddenly NOBODY will
be safe again. What's next? Larger SUVs like the following.

If you truly believe that size alone makes you safe, you'd BETTER buy a
Unimog. All those other SUVs (not to mention commercial vehicles) on the
road do have the ability to kill you, unless you are riding something like a
Unimog. Time to trade up, dude. -Dave
