OK, so right there on the returns tab it says non-refundable/non-returnable. If
that was a concern, you probably shouldn't have ordered it.
I wouldn't call a policy harsh when it only applies to certain specific items
and is clearly stated up front...
OK, maybe harsh is too strong a word. But, I would still call it
unfair unless specific attention is drawn to this policy (by a popup
maybe) while purchasing this item. Most other websites do it, compusa
being one.
I do not know of any retail product except big ticket items like a car
that are non returnable even when one has never opened the package.
Therefore, specific attention must be drawn to the consumer if such a
policy exists.
However, everything is resolved. I just got an email (few minutes ago)
from newegg stating that they would make an exception.
