How many times have you called someone, got their voicemail, been
happy that their outgoing message is brief, then, just as you're ready
to leave your mesage at the beep, you get something like this: At the
tone, please leave your message. When you've finished recording, you
may hang up or press 1 for more options. To leave a callback number,
press 5.
ARRRGGGHHH!!! I go through the same *** too! My greeting is simply
"please leave a message". I also find it ultra annoying when people
make
megalong greetings full of fluff, rock and roll music, or *** like
that, not to mention
it *EATS UP CELL PHONE TIME*.
It also makes callers think twice about calling and leaving messages at all
unless it's something really important.
Which is exactly why I have a long, drawn out and rather hostile greeting on
my VM.
Something that's getting lost here is the the VM doesn't belong to you - it
belongs to the guy you're calling and just like any other appliance in his
home, he purchased it for his convenience, not for the convenience of
others.
