Give us some examples of searches that meet your description.

I was trying to find replacement parts for a toddler bed just a couple
of days ago. I Googled the name of manfacturer and nearly half of the
first page of results were bad links. Turns out that the manfacturer
went out of business about 4 years ago. I have seen this before -
Google and other search site giving results that don't work. While
most of the links provided by Google work (the value of search results
is often questionable), it is not unusual to get bad/dead links in just
about any search.

I agree there will always be some dead links, but there are far too
many lately. I just did a search for something specific to dentists.
I got a total of 9 hits. Out of those 9, FOUR of them were dead (two
were the same link). Of the 5 that remained, two were not at all
related to what I searched, another took me to another search engine,
the 4th one was about checking a dogs teeth (semi close to accurate),
and one was a link to ancient usenet posts which offerred nothing
useful.
