Ernst and Young can now join the list of companies that have exposed
personal information too easily:

Think it's about time to put some new laws into effect:
- Any database containing sensitive personal information must also include
as metadata the same category of personal information of all officers and
directors of the holding corporation as well as all employees who are
charged with creating and enforcing security policies for protecting that
data. No means of encryption or security may be applied to this metadata
that is not also applied to the database as a whole.
- Any laptop or other personal storage device assigned to an employee that
contains sensitive personal information must also store the same category of
personal information of the employee(s) who use the device. No means of
encryption or security may be applied to this metadata that is not also
applied to the database as a whole.
- Any person to which these requirements apply must annually submit their
full name, address, DoB, SSN and copies of their credit reports and federal
tax returns to the FTC. If it is determined that a database or personal
storage device containing personal information is not tagged with the
metadata as required above, the FTC will publically display the offending
person or persons' personal documents on their website for a period of five
years.
