Anyone using Paypal's NEW merchant services?

We've been using it a lot in the past 6 months. It seems to work pretty
well and the rates are fairly low compared to other merchants. Also,
they offer a complete online "virtual terminal" which sure beats a
machine for no swipe transactions. However, they are going to start
charging a $20/month fee for the services effective February.

At any rate, as a merchant I'm obviously concerned about Paypal's
ability to fight fraudulent chargebacks. Thankfully, I've only run into
one with Paypal and they appeared to have disputed it successfully
(although we had to "help" it along quite a bit). I'm interested in any
feedback from businesses using this system. Whenever I ask on Ebay
forums I just get bombarded with negative comments from the
"anti-Paypal brigade" The problem is these folks aren't using the
merchant services, and are also SHIPPING items to people across the
world. As a local business, we only use the new Paypal merchant
services to process credit cards as payment for goods AND services. The
customers always signs and initial an invoice for products and
services. Only after that do we charge the card for the exact amount
listed on the invoice. Even with all that, there are always "chargeback
cons" that will try to screw over a small business thinking they won't
be collected on. This is the #1 reason we stopped accepting checks as
they offer literally zero merchant protection until cashed and cleared.
It's for this reason, I'm concerned about all the great claims made by
Paypal with regard to fighting fraudulent chargebacks. TIA for any real
experience feedback. Please no "anti-Paypal" brigade. :)
