I apparently got one of the excellent ones that they make.
They must have made one bad one, then waited for you to buy it.

Nothing beta about the one I have. I have used it as my primary
bed for more than 8 years. I have not had any problems what so
ever.

There is no way that the bed I have can fall apart. The frame bolts
together with 1/4" nut an bolt hardware. The upper mattress is
a heavy material that has a zip off cover. All the parts go inside
and are zipped up. If you keep it zipped up, the mattress remains
together in one piece.

That is likely true on both accounts. An air bed only needs to
be about 2 inches thick. But people equate thick mattresses with
good mattresses. They have to play the game. And since you
bought one model of bed, why would you expect them to give you
a different model of bed? That would be like buying a Ford Focus,
then going back to the dealer demanding that they give you a new
Explorer for free. Not going to happen.

Well, just let a litte more air out of the side that you want
less air in. The units are adjustable from 05 to 95, so if
65 doesn't work for you, try 60 or 70 or 55 or 75. No one has
ordered you to stay at the sleep number you currently use.

For those of you who do not own a select comfort, I highly
recommend trying one. It is by far the most comfortable bed
that I have ever slept in. I would not consider parting with
my bed, except if someone invented a water bed that got rid
of all the negatives that water beds have. The one downside
with a select comfort is that they build up heat. That means
having to put a pillow top and mattress pad on it to keep cool.
A water bed is great at keeping the exact same temperature.
