Find a local "mattress factory" store where they make the mattresses on premises. Most of them don't charge extra to customize it for an odd size bed. You'll also save about 65% over the department store prices.

I need a new mattress and box spring for my bed but I've discovered a huge problem that I could use help with.
My bed has a wooden frame where the box spring sits down in the frame. So the box spring must be a specific size or it won't fit. My bed originally came with a really cheap futon mattress and no box spring (I didn't buy the bed, it was a gift). So the problem is that the standard size twin mattress and box spring is one inch too wide for my frame. My frame measures 38"x75" and the standard is 39"x75", hence the problem.
