Yes, I would consider moving to renewable vegetable oils infeasible. The
problem is a lack of growing space. Not that the idea isn't a good one, it
just won't scale nearly high enough to make a dent in the oil shortage
problem without in turn creating a FOOD SHORTAGE problem.
We need to find a long-term energy solution that is not "grown" on fertile
farmland and that does not use "fossil" fuels at all. Now if we could
develop a type of oil that is "grown" in the oceans, THAT might work, as it
wouldn't take fertile soil away from food production. -Dave
