You folks just don't get it. The doubling of gasoline prices, which
raise your total gas bill for the year to still WELL below what you
spend on a myriad of other everyday things doesn't constitute a DIRE
emergency.

A massive terrorist attack which interrupts supply lines to the point
of you not even able to GET gasoline if you had the money IS a dire
emergency. That's what the reserve should be used for.
