Home Sale: Change Of Heart

I have got an urgent question for you all.
I listed my house two days ago and already had a showing the same day.
The buyer was interested in the house and immediately made an offer
below my expectations so I countered his offer with a figure somewhere
in the middle. The offer expires in 3 days and the buyer has time
until then to make up his mind or counter back with a different offer.
Problem is, I just learnt today that my job may be on the chopping
block soon. In this condition, I really cannot sell the house at all,
and I am now worried about the possibility of having to sell my house
forcibly in the event that the buyer actually accepts the purchase
agreement by Tuesday !!!!!
This is MY house after all still. Am I legally bound by this purchase/
sell offer document to really sell the house even if my personal
circumstances changed between the time I signed the document and the
time the buyer has a chance to return his answer??? The document I am
referring to is a standard real estate company's purchase agreement
paperwork
Please tell me. Any experts out there???
Thanks in advance.
yannick
