ummm .. the laminate flooring industry simulates hardwood flooring. Lots
of that sort of product around.

you can't put it on top of carpet and expect it to last.
Not to mention, the doors might not open any more.

I have seen some temporary floors that have small plastic spikes that
keep them from sliding.
These are for dance floors that you can put on sand or on carpeting,
but they are ugly.
