Hi,Any recommendations or dis-recommendations?
My 15 year old Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator (Model NO.
ED25DQXYN00) broke down yesterday. Looks like the compressor had
probably quit. Is it worth fixing it or is it time to get a new one?
Any feedback is appreciated.
TIA
Even if it was worth fixing, it would not be economical to run.
Refrigerators have become so much more efficient over the past 10
years that you will save enough (compared to your 15 year old unit)
to buy a new one over the next 8 years.

Thanks. I had decided to replace it and I was asking for recommendations for
a new unit.
I fond the following models in Lowes and Sears. Anyone have experience with
these models?
1) Whirlpool Gold - Model # GS5SHAXSB - Nice glossy black finish with
in-door ice dispenser and filter for $1498
2) Whirlpool Gold Model # GD5RHAXSB - Grainy black finish with the same
features for $1298
3) Whirlpool Model $ ED5SHAXT - Grainy black finish with the same
for $1499
Thanks for any info,
.
