first, please bear with me while I "set the stage" for my problem.Obviously the second guy didn't find all the mistakes. Sounds like the old
my basement is being finished. I had electrical service upgraded to 200
amps. I insisted on having a licensed electrician do the upgrade. when
the upgrade was completed I had reason to be concerned that the man
doing the upgrade was not licensed. I was right. my contractor said he
didn't know. (was he telling me the truth - i cannot say) I had a
licensed electrician follow up and mistakes were corrected. lastly in
setting the stage I must disclose that my contractor did wire several
new basement circuits. Now the problem.
circuits and new circuits are linked somewhere. Hate to say it, but you need
to stop work on the remodel before any more walls are closed in, and get
another electrician in to map out the mess and figure out what is going on.
I suspect they borrowed a ground or neutral somewhere, and current is going
where it shouldn't. Your breakers are doing their job, detecting that
something downstream ain't right, and cutting the power. You have my
sympathy- I had to clean up some incompetent wiring in this place when I
bought it.
