Der LPT-Key war früher Stand der Technik und hat in der
Version Hardlock auch immer recht gut funktioniert.
Wer trotzdem rumgejammert hat, bekam eine Portkarte ...

Heute haben wir USB Keys, damit ist das Problem der
Interferenz mit dem Parallelport per Definition erledigt.

Wenn einer noch Parallelport-Keys will, dann bekommt
er den, wir kaufen aber keine neuen solchen mehr ein,
USB ist einfach _viel_ handlicher.

Geht auch (machen wir alternativ), wird aber als wesentlich
kritischer angesehen, da der Kunde seine Hardware nicht
mehr selber beliebig umbauen kann.

Momentan sehen wir kleine USB Keys als das Mittel der
Wahl bei teuren Produkten an. Der Key ist klein, läuft auch
am Notebook, der Kunde kann selber entscheiden, was
er mit der Software macht. Von der Hardware spricht auch
nichts dagegen, dass er 10 Jahre lebt, und nach 10 Jahren
gehen auch andere ehemals teure Produkte mal kaputt
und brauchen einen Werkstattaufenthalt oder ein Re-Invest.
Die Chance ist da höher, dass die _PC_ Hardware kaputt
geht und neue Hardware nur mit neuem Betriebssystem
läuft, welches von der alten Software nicht mehr unterstützt
wird.

Wir hatten einige Anfragen dieser Art in der letzten Zeit, es
war _nicht_ der Dongle, der kaputt ging, sondern es gab
schlicht keine Grafikkarte mehr, die von den alten Treibern
der DOS Version noch mit hoher Auflösung unterstützt wird
=> Umstellung auf neue Windows Version oder Ebay Schrott
zusammenkaufen.

Manche haben sich ein Herz genommen und ein Update
erworben, andere haben tatsächlich Uralt-Hardware via ebay
besorgt, und ja, dabei geht es _nur_ ums liebe Geld ;-/
