Klar. Das wurde auch früher schon falsch gemacht. Schrieb ich ja. Aber
FD (floppy disk) ist eine Diskette, auch wenn die Dinger später gar
nicht mehr "floppy" waren, und HD (hard disk) eine Magnetscheibe ohne
Gehäuse, heute auch Platter genannt. Übrigens für Deutsche nicht

Daß man zur Festplatte unbedingt HDD
(Hard Disk Drive) sagen muß, wenn man verstanden werden will, habe ich
zur Kenntnis genommen.

Meistens ergibt sich die Bedeutung aus dem Zusammenhang. Aber in
technischen Gruppen sollte man zumindest so genau sein, daß es nicht
zu Verwechslungen kommt. Ich sage im täglichen Sprachgebrauch auch
Festplatte und nicht Festplattenlaufwerk, weil da jeder auf Anhieb
weiß, was ich meine.

Nebenbei finde ich den ganzen Abkürzungswahn, auf
allen Gebieten, sowieso immer unverständlicher.

Das war früher nicht besser. Als ich die erste Chip las (ca. 1975),
verstand ich keinen einzigen Fachbegriff und konnte den Artikeln nicht
folgen. Einige Jahre später habe ich das Chip-Abonnement gekündigt,
weil mir diese Anzeigenpostille zu flach war.

Bei meinem DVD-Recorder mit HDD 250 GB passen natürlich nur 66 Stunden
in HQ (High Quality) auf die HDD, es wird von normalem DVB-C
aufgenommen, und hat mit HDTV nix zu tun.

Also nimmst Du analog auf. Damit habe ich keine Erfahrung. Ich bin von
VHS-Videorecordern direkt auf Digitalmitschnitt via D-Box 2
umgestiegen. Da kann man keine Qualität einstellen, da immer der
unveränderte Originalstream gespeichert wird. Die Aufnahme ist deshalb
eine 1:1-Kopie des Gesendeten.
