Hmmm? VHS und Windows haben sich zumindest nicht nur als Insellösung
(Editor in Unix) durchgesetzt. VHS wurde durch etwas Besseres (DVD)
abgelöst. Wo ist jetzt der Punkt in Bezug auf vi?

VHS hat sich gegenüber Betamax durchgesetzt, obwohl letzteres die
deutlich bessere Qualität geliefert hat.
Windows hat sich gegenüber allen Alternativen durchgesetzt, weil die
passende Marktmacht dahinterstand (Microsoft/Hardwarehersteller).

In beiden Fällen war der entscheidende Faktor _nicht_ die technische
Überlegenheit.

Es war ein Beispiel für eine für mich ungewohnte Ergonomie
(Blinkerschalter), die ich nicht abqualifiziere, nur weil sie mir nicht
zusagt. Mehr Parallele zu der vi-Diskussion war da nicht, und sollte
auch gar nicht sein.

Nur um sicher zu sein: Dein Argument war, nur weil man die Bedienung
nicht so schnell durchschaut, muss es nicht direkt ein Scheisskrapfen
sein, egal ob BMW oder vi?
