Kein PC-Card-Slot? Auf den ist man angewiesen, etwa wenn man das Gerät um eine parallele oder serielle Schnittstelle, um UMTS, einen schnellen Kartenleser für ein zukünftiges Format, etc. erweitern möchte. USB-Lösungen sind meist nur ein schwacher Ersatz.

Musst Du selber wissen. Mir persönlich wäre er, da Display > 14", zu groß und vermutlich zu empfindlich zum täglichen Herumschleppen, aber das ist vermutlich nicht Dein Einsatzgebiet. Aus diversen Gründen (Trackpoint, gute Tastatur, gute Linux-Unterstützung, gute Ersatzteilversorgung, gute Erfahrungen mit dem Support, usw.) setzen ich und einige der Kunden der Firma, für die ich arbeite, IBM/Lenovo-Laptops ein.
