Nein, neue USB 2.

Aber kleine Dateien mit 10 bis 20 KB Größe
bringen das Tempo reichlich runter.

Nein, ich verwende USB 2.0

Aber da ich dadurch in unmittelbarer Nähe der
lauten 3.5" Harddisk bin, kann ich so 2 Stunden nichts arbeiten,
wegen der Lärmbelästigung.

Mit dem WLAN kann die Harddisk in einem anderen Zimmer
stehen, und ich kann in der Zeit normal arbeiten.

Billiger und erheblich schneller ist aber USB2.0 oder Firewire, was Du
entweder schon an Board haben solltest oder per PCCard günstig
nachrüsten kannst.
