Inzwischen habe ich die gleiche Erfahrung gemacht wie Klaus-Dieter.
Mit einer Restzeit von ca. 30 Minuten stoppte die Installation von einer
nagelneuen Upgrade-CD.

"Upgrade-CD"?

Die Installation von einem externen Pioneer-Laufwerk ging dann komplett
problemlos.

Gleicher Datenträger funktioniert in anderem Laufwerk -> Ich würde das
interne Laufwerk überprüfen lassen.

Es könnte sein, dass das Laufwerk eine Macke hat, die bisher nicht
unbedingt auffallen musste, wenn bisher noch keine doppellagige DVD-ROM
außer der Mac OS X 10.5 Installations-DVD verwendet wurde.

Dies kann sein. Ich gehe aber davon aus, dass z.B. die DVDs von den
Sopranos oder Wim Wenders welche ich in meinem Macbook hatte doppellagig
sind.

Wovon du ausgehst sollte die Basis deiner nächsten Überprüfung und nicht
die Basis deiner nächsten Schlussfolgerung sein.
